Abstract
Las zonas costeras han experimentado una gran evolución y desarrollo urbano a lo largo de la historia, fruto de un alto interés en estos espacios, especialmente para el uso turístico. Debido a una demanda creciente y exigente de estos lugares, se ha producido una gran transformación urbana mediante la construcción de infraestructura, como lo son los complejos turísticos, los paseos marítimos, los puertos deportivos o los espacios de ocio y recreación, entre otros. En la actualidad, el turismo de sol y playa representa uno de los pilares de la actividad turística a nivel internacional. Sin embargo, cabe destacar que el sector turístico, por su propia razón de ser, es susceptible de verse afectado por cualquier cambio, sea positivo o negativo. A esta característica propia del sector se le debe añadir que las zonas costeras cuentan con peligros asociados de origen natural debido a su emplazamiento, lo cual puede afectar enormemente a la actividad turística del lugar...
Coastal areas have undergone great evolution and urban development throughout history, as a result of a high interest in these spaces, especially for tourist use. Due to a growing and demanding demand for these places, a great urban transformation has taken place through the construction of infrastructure, such as tourist complexes, promenades, marinas or leisure and recreation areas, among others. Today, sun and beach tourism represents one of the pillars of tourism activity at the international level. However, it should be noted that the tourism sector, due to its idiosyncrasy, is susceptible to being affected by any change, whether positive or negative. To this characteristic of the sector must be added the fact that coastal areas have associated hazards of natural origin due to their location, which can greatly affect tourism activity in the area...
