Abstract
Este estudio plantea el objetivo general de estudiar la motivación de los estudiantes de español en China. Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo y descriptivo, en el cual se utiliza el cuestionario de Gao como principal instrumento de recogida de datos. Esta recogida de datos se realiza a través de la página web http://www.sojump.com. Se utilizan para el análisis de los datos, fundamentalmente, componentes principales y MANOVA. Los trescientos un sujetos del estudio provienen de las facultades de Filología Hispánica de tres universidades públicas chinas: SISU de Chongqing, la Universidad de Heilongjiang y la Universidad de Changzhou. El análisis factorial muestra cinco motivaciones principales existentes entre los sujetos: desarrollo personal, gusto personal, responsabilidad de comunicación social, entorno de aprendizaje y obtención de créditos y certificados. El análisis MANOVA confirma que los estudiantes con más nivel de inglés tienen mayor gusto personal por la lengua y por la cultura española y, además, tienen intención de obtener buenas calificaciones como principal motivación en el aprendizaje del español. Los estudiantes que llevan más tiempo aprendiendo español tienen más gusto personal por la lengua y por la cultura, y mayor interés por obtener buenas calificaciones y certificados en sus estudios. Las implicaciones pedagógicas también se examinan en este ensayo.
