Abstract

Las matemáticas están presentes en el cine desde el comienzo de su industria, siendo ésta una herramienta útil para la docencia y la divulgación. Podemos encontrar una amplia lista de ejemplos de conceptos matemáticos, teoremas y proposiciones explicados en películas, cubriendo todas las ramas matemáticas y desde el nivel más elemental hasta matemáticas avanzadas. Con el rigor científico, el cine es una herramienta útil en la enseñanza como multiples profesores han demostrado. Este rigor es importante ya que algunas películas también incurren en errores o conceptos erróneos. Sin embargo, manteniendo estos estándares cientı́ficos, esta herramienta ofrece los resultados esperados para nuestros fines docentes y divulgativos.Mathematics is present in movies almost since the beginning of the film industry, making this industry a really useful tool for its dissemination. We can find a broad list of examples of mathematics concepts, theorems and propositions explained in movies, covering all mathematical fields and all levels from primary school to advanced mathematics. With scientific rigour, the film industry is also a valid tool for teaching as many professors have already proved. This rigour is highly important since some movies have mathematical mistakes or misconceptions, but, keeping these scientific standards, this tool provides the desired educational results.
