Abstract
La investigación sobre cómo la actividad física afecta el rendimiento cognitivo ha aumentado significativamente en los últimos años. Además de los efectos perjudiciales conocidos de la falta de actividad física en la salud cardiovascular, los niveles bajos de actividad física también pueden tener un impacto negativo en el rendimiento académico y cognitivo. En este contexto, se han realizado esfuerzos para aumentar los niveles de actividad física en esta población, especialmente mediante la promoción de intervenciones de actividad física en la escuela. De hecho, la escuela se muestra como un contexto ideal para promocionar la actividad física, puesto que los niños permanecen sentados la mayor parte de la jornada escolar, pero la investigación centrada en este tema ha sido limitada. In addition to the known detrimental effects of lack of physical activity on cardiovascular health, low levels of physical activity may also have a negative impact on academic and cognitive performance.
