Abstract
La historiografía ha tendido a pasar por alto el papel de la Inteligencia en los acontecimientos del siglo XX. De esta manera, el espionaje se diluye muchas veces con la diplomacia, cuando en realidad, la Inteligencia en la sombra constituye para los Estados una herramienta más de la diplomacia oficial. De esta manera, el estudio del espionaje nos permite tener una visión más completa sobre un determinado tiempo histórico, dejando al descubierto aspectos incómodos para la historia oficial. A pesar de que la Inteligencia es un campo esencial para los estados con el objetivo de anticiparse a las amenazas de otros estados, siempre ha existido un vacío en la historiografía ya que los estudios históricos sobre este tema son escasos, por tanto, este importante área de estudio de la Historia de las Relaciones Internacionales y de la Historia Militar sigue en parte oculto en la disciplina histórica, de hecho, se conoce mejor en el mundo de la novela histórica y la ficción que a nivel factual, basado en evidencias históricas...
Historiography has tended to overlook the role of intelligence in the events of the 20th century. Due to this, espionage is often included in diplomacy, while, shadow intelligence is just another diplomatic tool for states. As a consequence, the study of espionage allows us to have a more complete vision of a given historical period, revealing aspects that are uncomfortable for official history to acknowledge.Although intelligence is essential for states to anticipate international threats, there has always been a gap in historiography, as historical studies on Intelligence and espionage are scarce, thus, this important area of study in the history of international relations and military history remains partly hidden in the historical discipline.
