Abstract
En el presente trabajo se trata de ofrecer una panorámica general de lo que la técnica de entrenamiento en biofeedback de temperatura periférica (BFB-T) puede ofrecer al psicólogo clínico interesado en los problemas de salud. Se revisa la bibliografía existente sobre la eficacia clínica del BFB-T en su aplicación, principalmente, a las cefaleas, la enfermedad de Raynaud, la hipertensión esencial, la dismenorrea funcional, la psoriasis, la artritis reumatoide y el síndrome de colon irritable. Finalmente, se hacen algunas breves consideraciones sobre el papel del BFB-T en la investigación psicológica y en los programas terapéuticos que actualmente se proponen para tratar los mencionados trastornos psicofisiológicos.
The present paper shows what skin temperature biofeedback training (BFB-T) can offer to the clinical psychologists interested in health problems. The literature about the clínical efficacy of BFB-T, mainly ín the treatment of headaches, Raynaud's disease, essentíal hypertensíon, primary dysmenorrhea, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome is reviewed. Fínally, the role of BFB-T in the therapeutíc programs which are currently proposed to treat the psychophysiologic disorders mentíoned above and its role in psychological research are discussed.
