Abstract

The relationship between art, aesthetic experience, and human perception has been a subject of fascination and study throughout history. From early philosophical reflections on beauty to recent advances in neuroscience, our understanding of how we engage emotionally and cognitively with art continues to evolve. This study explores and reviews the interdisciplinary connections between neuroaesthetics and artistic practice, examining the evolution of aesthetic perception. Ranging from the classical concepts of philosophical beauty to the more contemporary contributions of neuroaesthetics, the aesthetic experience is approached as a complex phenomenon capable of modulating emotions and internal states. Bearing in mind that artistic creation is considered a cognitive process, a detailed review is made of various theorists and artists who provide insight into this new model of cognitive knowledge in art.
