Abstract
Femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAI) has been described as a triad of symptoms, clinical signs and imaging findings related to the hip joint, producing pain, decreased physical function and quality of life. Purpose: To develop a Spanish version of the international Hip Outcome Tool questionnaire (iHOT-12Sv) for assessing the psychometric characteristics of this version in physically active patients with hip pain. To assess psychological, functional and physical differences between patients with FAI and asymptomatic controls and internal differences between four subtypes of FAI (CAM-type; CAM-type with labral tear, PINCER-type and PINCER-type with labral tear), to determine the physical differences between symptomatic and asymptomatic hips in patients with FAI, to analyze the association among all the variables assessed and to calculate a regression model for identifying those variables contributing to the hip-related quality of life variance. Methods: After conducting the translation and al castellano adaptation of the questionnaire, a consecutive sample of patients with labral tear injury and/or FAI were recruited. Patients completed the iHOT-12Sv and the Spanish version of the iHOT-33 and the Hip Outcome Score (HOS)...
