Abstract
Nowadays, the perception of the Vandals, an ancient Germanic people who settled on Roman soil during the Late Empire, is conceived alongside the term «vandalism» that currently means arbitrary violence. Nevertheless, that noun did not originate in ancient times, but during French Revolution. The purpose of these pages is to qualify, demystify and elucidate the Vandals’ past to separate their reality from the present connotations associated with this term, which is clearly unfair to the Vandals’ memory.
