El "mito" de Don Quijote (2ª parte): ¿con o sin comillas? En busca de criterios pertinentes del mito.

Abstract

Toda la estructuración del Quijote revela una intención netamente desmitificadora. Así, la 1ª parte es de naturaleza eminentemente paródica; consiste, por lo general, en trocar el ambiente poético-caballeresco en ambiente de baja cotidianeidad. La 2ª parte, más innovadora, utiliza con gran sutilidad el recurso de lo apócrifo, suscita en el lector, y en el mismo personaje, la duda sobre la autenticidad de lo narrado. Ambos recursos, entiendo, son incompatibles con la estructura propia de los relatos míticos. Hablar del mito de Don Quijote es ir contra la literalidad del texto, abusar del lenguaje: cometer un contrasentido.The whole structure of Don Quixote reveals a clearly demystifying intention. The first part is eminently parodic; it consists, in general, to change the poetic-chivalric atmosphere in low everyday life. The second part, more innovative, uses with great subtlety the appeal of the apocryphal; it arouses in the reader, and in the character himself, doubts about the authenticity of what is narrated. Both resources, I understand, are incompatible with mythical narratives. To speak of the myth of Don Quixote is to go against the literal text, an abuse of language: it is to commit a contradiction.
