Abstract
En el año 24 a.C. el emperador romano César Augusto ordenó al Prefecto de Egipto el inicio de una campaña militar para hacerse con el control de la rica Arabia Felix y de las importantes rutas comerciales que esta controlaba. En este artículo trataremos sobre las circunstancias que rodearon esta misión y su inesperado desenlace, los cuales condicionaron que desde Roma no se volviera a pensar en el dominio de esa región.
In the year 24 BCE, Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus ordered the Prefect of Egypt the beginning of a military campaign to seize control of Arabia Felix rich and important trade routes is controlled. In this article we will discuss the circumstances surrounding this mission and its unexpected outcome, which from Rome conditioned not to think again the dominance of that region.
