El mito de la Diosa en la obra de Leonora Carrington

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es hacer un análisis global del motivo de la Diosa en la obra de Leonora Carrington. Para ello, se ha seleccionado un corpus representativo de obras que permiten enmarcar a la artista dentro del contexto religioso-cultural desde el cual se empezó a recuperar la figura de la Diosa a lo largo del siglo XX. El trabajo parte de un marco teórico que permite sentar las bases sobre las que después se construirá el análisis de la obra. Dicho estudio se ha realizado a través de la lectura de fuentes primarias y secundarias, prestando especial atención a las implicaciones que tuvo para la vida y obra de Carrington la lectura de "The White Goddess".The aim of this work is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the Goddess motif in the work of Leonora Carrington. To this end, a representative corpus of works has been selected that allows the artist to be framed within the religious and cultural context from which the figure of the Goddess began to be recovered throughout the 20th century. The work begins with a theoretical framework that sets the basis from which Carrington’s work is analysed. This study has been carried out through the reading of primary and secondary sources, paying special attention to the impact that reading "The White Goddess" had in Carrington’s life and work.
