Abstract
La educación y la historia han sido herramientas fundamentales en la construcción de las identidades nacionales a lo largo del tiempo. La crisis del estado-nación tras las guerras mundiales, acentuada por los profundos cambios en las dinámicas globales a partir de los años setenta, significó una transformación de la sociedad y por tanto también de las identidades. Los libros de texto de la asignatura de “Historia de España” son una herramienta didáctica en la que el alumnado encuentra distintos referentes sobre los cuales se articula su identidad. Un análisis de los mismos nos permitirá vislumbrar cuáles son estos referentes y de qué forma se significan. Al mismo tiempo nos permitirá comprobar la consonancia con los objetivos identitarios que propone la legislación y advertir las ausencias y vacíos que el alumnado encontrará.
Education and history have been fundamental tools throughout the construction of national identities over time. The crisis of Nation-states after world wars, accentuated by deep changes in global dynamics since the Seventies, resulted in a transformation of society and therefore also of identities. Textbooks based on the subject “History of Spain” represent a didactic tool in which students find different referents where their identity is articulated. Therefore, an analysis of various textbooks will allow us to see what these referents are and how they are signified. At the same time, such analysis will allow us to verify the consonance of the identity´s objectives that legislation proposes and to notice the absences and scarcity of information that students might find out.
