Abstract
Due to the low e ciency and antiquity of the methodology which is currently being used in Facultad de Informáitca from Universidad Complutense de Madrid to track the faculty assistance to their lessons, an IoT based full digital system is proposed, in order to improve this situation in every aspect. Control access systems are widely used nowadays to guarantee the safety of the users and to develop a register of the people who have tried to enter across the boundaries. This criteria and techniques are going to be used in the project to take advantage of the bene ts that this well-known technology can provide. For this purpose, the project is focused on installing RFID based smart card readers at the entrance of teaching spaces that want to be monitored, which are fully compatible with the identi cation card that every person in the university owns since they are linked to it. The teachers' assistance is veri ed by a web service. This server is connected to a database where all the information related of the users is stored. This database is also used to save the teachers assistance information. Once these data is collected, the system is able to generate reports on the incidents that occurred during such attendance, which can be consulted by faculty and administrative sta , enabling them to make informed decisions and study the actual situation. In addition, the system deploys a mechanism that registers the student assistance, making the teachers' task to record their attendance easier. With this additional functionality, teachers can track students' progress more e ectively and have a clearer view of their participation in the lessons.
