Arte negro: una educación artística antirracista en España como escenario para otros posibles

Abstract

El arte es una de las herramientas de transformación más potentes que existen. Nos permite imaginar alternativas, otros futuros posibles. El arte es “filosofía en imágenes”, cuestionarse el mundo para entender las distintas formas de experiencia humana. Es capaz de sintetizar lo que acontece promoviendo la catarsis de emociones perturbadoras (Chalmers, 2003) y eso revela indirectamente muchas cosas que no sabemos de nosotros mismos o la sociedad. Nos da la oportunidad de enfrentarnos a esto, ponerle una imagen, encararlo y responder, ensayar otros modos de ver (Berger, 2000). Y es desde este lugar que los artistas afrodescendientes han tomado el arte. Si bien la Historia del Arte Occidental tiene muchos espacios en blanco, podemos encontrar multitud de representaciones que nos descubren, de manera evidente, la falsedad de la migración como fenómeno reciente y la influencia del arte africano y afrodescendiente en nuestra historia.Art is one of most powerful tools that currently exist. It allows us to imagine alternatives, other possible futures. Art is “philosophy in images”, questioning the world to understand the different forms of human experiences. It can synthesize what happens promoting the catharsis of disturbing emotions (Chalmers, 2003) and indirectly reveals many things that we do not know about ourselves or our society. It gives us a chance to face this, put an image on it, face it and respond, try other paths to watch (Berger, 2000). And it is from this place that Afro-descent artists have taken art. While the History of Western Art has many blanks, we can find a multitude of representations that show us, in an obvious way, the fake statement of migration as a recent phenomenon and the influence of African and Afro-descent art in our history.
