Las personas con discapacidad constituyen en España un colectivo numeroso (4,38 millones, según los últimos datos del Instituto Nacional de Estadística), sobre el que se han formado y mantenido a prejuicios, estigmas y discriminación a lo largo de la historia. Esta investigación analiza la imagen que las cadenas españolas de televisión, de ámbito nacional, han difundido de estas personas. Se parte de la consideración de que se conoce y se evalúa a los grupos sociales diferentes al propio a través de la información difundida por los medios de comunicación.
