Huellas del patrimonio educativo en Nueva España (s. XVI)

Abstract

Este trabajo muestra las transformaciones educativas en el México del siglo XVI a través de cuatro tipos de fuentes primarias: códices mexicas, textos legales, crónicas y obras pedagógicas o humanistas realizadas en los primeros momentos de la evangelización. Estas fuentes nos muestran la manera en la que los aparatos de control del estado moderno, Corona e Iglesia, se valieron del arraigado mundo simbólico de los pueblos nativos para ejercer su dominio y sometimiento desde la educación.The present work shows the educational transformations that took placed in 16th century in Mexico through primary sources such as Mexican codices, legal texts, chronicles and pedagogical or humanist works carried out in the first moments of evangelization. These sources show us the way in which the government systems of the modern state, crown and church, used the traditional symbolic world of the native peoples to dominate and subjugate them through education
