Abstract
[EN] The following work consist in a conservation and restauration proposal of a Paco Conesa`s contemporary wall painting. The wall painting, made by secco technique whit emulsion acrylic paint, belongs to a private sphere. The owner Mª Cruz Andrade González wishes to change her residence, in which the piece is located, and her intention is to move it with her. Thus, the developing of the work is focused in making the decision about if it`s reasonable to transform an immovable artwork associated with a specific space into a mobile artwork. To reach a conclusion, firstly, a contextual framework about the artist Paco Conesa and his career was built, intending to also give him a well-deserved recognition. The space, material and significance conditions of the wall painting situated on Santiago de Compostela are deeply studied as well. Added to this study is a review and registration of other mural paintings by the artist. The research depends on the immersion in their surroundings and contact with acquaintances, since Paco Conesa passed away in 2016. Subsequently a revision and application of criteria to the specific typology of contemporary private mural was made, culminating whit the adaptation of the “Decision Making Model for the Conservation and Restoration of Contemporary Art”. Once it was determined and justified that the detachment by strappo was the procedure that guaranteed a better conservation of the different aspects that formed the piece, an intervention proposal was developed. The proposal was based on the material study through bibliographic revision and practical experimentation with mockups, to find the most compatible possible to strappo and emulsion acrylic materials and technics.
