Abstract
In the context of a current globalized society, mastery of multiple languages, especially English, has become essential due to the enormous personal, social, and economic benefits. Thus, bilingual education has developed into a vital tool for improving linguistic and communicative competence, requiring active, adaptive, and inclusive teaching methodologies that make learning an effective, comprehensive, and optimal process for all students. Despite these advances, many English classrooms remain trapped in traditional methods, influenced by institutional inertia and a lack of resources. This gap between modern theory and educational practice demands an urgent shift towards more contemporary and effective methods, a transformation that is possible and already observed in the teaching of subjects that are taught in English. Therefore, it is necessary to extend these innovations to the teaching of English as a foreign language to ensure that students achieve exceptional educational training. In this context, the study presented aims to address the following issue: What is the current teaching practice in the process of teaching and learning English as a foreign language? In this teaching practice, are “outdated” didactic approaches still being used in teaching English as a foreign language, or have more modern methodologies been adopted that align with the contemporary needs and learning styles of students?...
