“Casa tomada”, Domus pestilens. Julio Cortázar reescribe a Plinio el Joven

Abstract

We establish in this paper the unknown relationship between Pliny’s letter on ghosts (vii 27) and Cortázar’s Casa tomada tale. Three aspects must be considered: a) the haunted house as a literary space, b) the night and the silence as a literary subject, and finally c) the way characters behave in each story, specially when the ghost appears.
