Abstract
According to Gómez del Pulgar (2011), "competence is the intersection of knowledge, skills, attitude and values, as well as the mobility of components, in order to transfer them to a context or a real situation, creating the best action/solution to answer those different situations and problems faced in each specific moment with the available resources." To graduate in nursing, students must gain several skills, some transversal and some specific ones, which would allow them to work as a nurse. Communication and interpersonal skills belong to those transversal competencies. They include knowledge, skills, know-how, and capabilities that every graduate must have regardless of their degree. Smart communication is based on a very precise message, making sure that it reaches the people in an audience and triggers an emotion or a response from them. Another key element is talent. For years, the concept of talent has been controversial among those who argue that it is a congenital ability and those who defend that it is a skill that people can learn by doing. Most of the contemporary psychologists, based on different studies, lean towards a theory of talent developed from work. Touron and Reyero (2002) show this idea when they say that "talent that is not practised cannot be developed, but in order to be developed it is necessary to spot it." According to Marina (2016), talent is a "triumphant intelligence." By reaching a great level of talent people will be able to use their skills and capabilities towards a well-accomplished life, using all social and cultural resources within their reach. Marina explains that talent is the intelligence that picks the right goals...
