Abstract
El filósofo Slavoj Žižek (2016) trata una pregunta fundamental en el planteamiento de esta tesis, en cuanto a la importancia de examinar los discursos y las ideologías que hay detrás de las acciones humanas. La tesis trata de entender cómo los pequeños agricultores desarrollan innovaciones institucionales que contribuyen a la competitividad de productos agrícolas de exportación. Se parte de una revisión de fuentes secundarias sobre el rendimiento del sector agrícola desde 1980 en Colombia, a partir de las cuales se plantea la hipótesis de que las persistentes limitaciones estructurales e institucionales inhiben el aumento de la productividad, la calidad y la producción de los pequeños agricultores. Una proporción significativa de personas trabaja en la agricultura, y los pequeños agricultores dominan la producción de alimentos y cultivos de exportación. The thesis seeks to understand how smallholder farmers develop institutional innovations that contribute to the competitiveness of agricultural export products. It starts from a review of secondary sources on the performance of the agricultural sector since 1980 in Colombia, from which it is hypothesized that persistent structural and institutional constraints inhibit the increase in productivity, quality, and production of small farmers. A significant proportion of people work in agriculture, and small farmers dominate the production of food and export crops. While violence contributed to land concentration and displacement of the rural population, resulting in low export crop production yields, structural adjustments and trade liberalization did not contribute to the outcomes as anticipated...
