La obesidad constituye una de las principales causas de morbi-mortalidad en el mundo, siendo un importante factor de riesgo para el desarrollo de múltiples patologías como la diabetes, arterioesclerosis, cardiopatías y hasta ciertos tipos de cáncer. La obesidad es una enfermedad multifactorial, siendo los factores asociados con el estilo de vida, como la alimentación y la actividad física, sumamente relevantes en el desarrollo de esta condición. Cambios en el estilo de vida como el seguimiento de un régimen dietético y el aumento del ejercicio físico son la principal estrategia terapéutica en el manejo de la obesidad. Sin embargo, la dificultad que muchos pacientes sufren para mantener la pérdida de peso hace necesaria la búsqueda de nuevas estrategias dietéticas...
Obesity is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the world, being an important risk factor for the development of multiple pathologies such as diabetes, arteriosclerosis, heart disease and even certain types of cancer. Obesity is a multifactorial condidtion, with lifestyle factors, such as diet and physical activity, being highly relevant in the development of this pathology.
