Following an initial screening of corrosion inhibitors, 8-hydroxyquinoline (8HQ) is incorporated into the hybrid PEO/sol–gel system using two methods: (i) post-treatment of the PEO layer through immersion in an inhibitor-containing solution; (ii) loading the inhibitor into the sol–gel precursor. The characterization includes scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), and water drop contact angle measurements. The rheological properties of the inhibitor-loaded sol–gel precursors are assessed by measuring flow curves. The corrosion processes are evaluated in a saline solution through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and immersion tests with unscratched and scratched specimens, respectively. The results demonstrate the successful incorporation of the inhibitor for both loading strategies. Taxonomic characters from cuticular structures in homalorhagids are discussed and reevaluated. The longitudinal positions of cuticular structures along the trunk are furthermore defined, and the positional terminology is standardized. Así, sus texturas conemporáneas se mezclan con imágenes proyectadas en el fondo del escenario, con una sincronía perfecta entre los miembros del Trio (violín, chelo y piano) y la imagen proyectada. La sincronía musical y realización audiovisual está concebida para ser proyectada en directo mientras los músicos interpretan la obra. La expresividad sonora oscura y virtuosa y de la obra musical encajan perfectamente con el formato de luces y sombras virado hacia blanco y negro del formato del celuloide rodado y montado por Ricard Carbonell, con las indicaciones del compositor J.J. M.; Martin, Jim; Rose, David; García Parejo, María IsabelThe aim of the Teacher Learning for European Literacy Education (TeL4ELE) project was to support literacy educators in five European countries to become experts in genre based literacy pedagogy and in turn support teachers to improve learning outcomes for all students especially those who are educationally disadvantaged. Based on the external evaluation of the project1 this aim was fulfilled. Survey and interview data showed high levels of engagement with the pedagogy on the part of both educators and classroom teachers. Ninety seven per cent2 stated that, in their view, the pedagogy offered a completely different approach to reading and writing compared to those that are generally used in school. Moreover almost all teachers perceived it had had an impact on their students’ understanding of how language operates in different texts to make meaning and on their students’ reading and writing. Ninety two per cent wished to continue with the approach citing the following reasons as motivation: improvement in student learning, empowering nature of pedagogy, enjoyed working with the approach. Most significantly students’ assessment scores based on their pre and post reading and writing scores showed that all students (drawn from the 97 participating classes) had improved by an average of 14.3 % on their writing and 9% on their reading (in almost half of all cases in less than 5 weeks).Publication A Step Further in Digital Divide: Information and Strategic Skills of the Academy(Springer, 2022-10) Samancioglu, Nur; De Miguel Álvarez, Laura; Nuere, Silvia; Ruiz Gómez, María Esperanza; Linda, DanielaThis research looks at the issues of the educational perspective of the digital divide, specifically focusing on skills and competency of academics. It takes the skills and competency discourse and examines them with empirical data collected from academics. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, it is discussed how the use of academics on education-related digital tools has changed and whether this change has narrowed the digital gap. First, the research explained background information on the digital divide concept and different levels of digital divide. Second, the method of the survey is defined. Third, the demographic data: the academic’s use or capability of education related digital tools before and after the COVID-19 pandemic and the method of adoption of information and communication technology (ICT) tools are explained. Then, the findings of the students’ parallel surveys were presented. The discussionand conclusion part will draw a summary of whether this process has provided solutions to the digital divide by narrowing the gap in information and strategic skills.Publication Erik Satie y la música moderna a través de los escritos turinianos(2021) Aráez Santiago, Tatiana; Aráez Santiago, TatianaErik Satie ingresa en el Conservatorio de París en el año 1879 como alumno de las clases preparatorias de piano de Emile Descombes. Tras ser catalogado por su profesor en 1881 como “el estudiante más vago del Conservatorio”, es expulsado un año después. Pero el último intento por comulgar con aquella “especie de centro penitenciario, sin encanto exterior ni interior” se daría a finales de 1883, año en el que es admitido nuevamente en la institución como auditeur de la clase de armonía de Antoine Taudou. Pasados tres años, Satie abandona definitivamente el Conservatorio. Tras dos intentos fallidos en un centro que había gozado durante mucho tiempo del monopolio en materia musical, resulta llamativo cómo Satie persiste en su empeño por aprender. Ignorando los consejos de Debussy, escoge en esta ocasión la Schola Cantorum, una institución que -a pesar de estar en pleno desarrollo- tenía apenas diez años de recorrido. ¿Qué aportaba la Schola que no tenía el Conservatorio? Es Auguste Sérieyx el que recibe al nuevo estudiante, y la correspondencia entre este maestro y el director, Vincent d’Indy, la que nos revela datos inéditos sobre Satie. Sørensen, MartinTwo new species of homalorhagid kinorhynchs from the deep-sea Guinea Basin are described. Pycnophyes nubilis sp. nov. is easily recognized by the presence of paradorsal setae on segment 1; middorsal processes on segments 1–10, progressively increasing in length towards the posterior segments; and middorsal process on segment 10 extending over the last trunk segment. Pycnophyes farinellii sp. nov. is distinguished by middorsal elevations on segments 2–9 and laterodorsal and ventromedial setae on segments 2 and 9 only. Moreover, males of the latter species lack ventromedial tubes on segment 2—a very uncommon feature among the genus. The systematic significance of this character is discussed in detail.
