La obesidad se define como una acumulación excesiva de grasa corporal que puede conllevar riesgos para la salud de las personas que la sufren. Sin embargo, a nivel comunitario, se usa el índice de masa corporal (IMC) para definir el sobrepeso y la obesidad en poblaciones adultas.
