Abstract
La etnografía ha mostrado una enorme plasticidad no sólo como herramienta de análisis
social sino también como instrumento de aprendizaje. Durante 4 semestres, se implementó
una metodología docente basada en herramientas etnográficas con el objetivo de que el
alumnado mediante la observación, la participación y la comprensión de la cotidianidad de
la ciudad de Barcelona interiorizase conceptos teóricos claves para analizar el turismo como
fenómeno global con consecuencias locales. La localización de la Cárcel Modelo- en el
Distrito del Eixample, prisión clausurada recientemente y cuyo espacio liberado albergará,
entre otros elementos, un museo dedicado a su memoria- es el lugar donde el alumnado
entrevista, toma fotos, observa, conversa, participa.... Esta comunicación expone y evalúa
esta experiencia metodológica como generadora de creación de conocimientos y adquisición
de competencias así como sus aportaciones y limitaciones como metodología de
investigación socio-educativa, responsable y participativa del alumnado del Grado en
Turismo y Ocio
Description
Ethnography has shown an enormous plasticity not only as a tool for social analysis but
also as an instrument of learning. During 4 semesters, a teaching methodology based on
ethnographic tools was implemented with the aim that the students through observation,
participation and understanding of the daily life of the city of Barcelona internalized key
theoretical concepts to analyze tourism as a global phenomenon with consequences local.
The Carcel Modelo in the Eixample district, recently closed prison and whose space will be
housed, between other elements, a museum dedicated to his memory- are the places where
the students interview, take pictures, observe, talk, participate ... This communication
exposes and evaluates this methodological experience as a generator of knowledge creation
and acquisition of skills as well as its contributions and limitations as a methodology of
socio-educational, responsible and participatory research of the students of the Degree in
Tourism and Leisure.
