Abstract
Catherynne M. Valente is a contemporary American author whose writing, which is full of symbolism and intertextual references, may be fully appreciated in Apocrypha [2005]. This two-part poetry book contains both biblical and mythological poems and prose poetry stories that, seasoned with foreign words and culture-related items, are of great interest for the studies of poetic translation and intertextuality.
